シンジ・ウェーバー
前回の記事では鉄血のオルフェンズ登場キャラを取り上げたため「今度はARCVのキャラを取りあげるしかないだろう」ということで記事をまとめます
そのキャラクターとは
シンジ・ウェーバー
シンクロ次元で登場するキャラの中では重要な役割を持つキャラクター(のはず)
初登場からしばらくの間は特に活躍はなく、
徳松さんのデュエルに両腕を挙げながら「エンジョイ！」とか言ったりしてた印象しかない
vs 月影
そんな彼の転機はフレンドシップカップ1回戦第2試合
シンジ vs 月影 戦である
突如社会批判をしながら観客を煽るというエンタメデュエルを開始
これには忍術を駆使する実践派デュエリストの月影もドン引き
視聴者側からしても「この前までレイラにドーナツあげてただけのやつが急にどうした？？」と
まるで高校デビューした同級生を見るような生暖かい目に思わずなってしまう
ところでこの話に関係ないうえに散々言われてることであるが スピードカウンターの乗らないライディングデュエルに何の意味があるのだろう
シンクロ次元では一応互いのプレイヤーがDホイールに乗っていたから「ショーの演出」としてまだ納得は出来たが
融合次元編では対戦相手であるバトルビーストや榊遊矢が棒立ちの中
ジャックアトラスが1人だけDホイールでフィールドを高速周回しているというシュールな光景が見られた
いや降りろよお前
なにぐるぐる回ってんだ危ねえだろ
話をシンジに戻そう
革命を起こしたいシンジ
要するに彼の主張は
「コモンズはトップスに迫害され続けている。この格差社会をひっくり返そう」
「弱い立場の人やカードでも、集まることで強くなる」
というもの
なるほど、そういうことなら一理ある
暴動を扇動するあたりはどうかと思うが、主張自体は彼の生い立ちからすれば納得のいく部分はある
やり方次第では第三勢力になりそうな気配だ
1回戦ではトップスついでに風魔一族をdisられた月影がキレるも、
シンジは私も！緊急同調により大型モンスターをシンクロ召喚、月影をくだす
ちなみにこの時にシンクロされた「決戦のビッグバリスタ」は名前と口上がやたらカッコいい上に、ARCV初のレベル12シンクロモンスターということで
シンジがただのモブキャラではないことを示してくれる良い演出になっている
ビッグバリスタの効果自体はクソ雑魚そのものだったが
OCG化にあたり効果は改善されたようだ
vs 遊矢
その後フレンドシップカップは2回戦(準々決勝)に突入
「2回戦なのにもうベスト8なの？」とか思ったりするがそもそも参加者が少ない上に半数が身内の大会なのでそこは気にしない
ちなみにこの間にOPが変更、ベスト8に残った参加者が続々と新OPに出演する中
唯一シンジだけがOPに登場出来ず、戦う前から早くも暗雲が立ちこめる
絶対負けるだろお前
そしてシンジの2回戦の対戦相手が主人公の榊遊矢に決定、大量の負けフラグをマインスイーパー並みにぶち立てられていく
シンジが何をしたって言うんだ
しかし逆境の中 彼の戦いはここから始まる
「弱い人や弱いカードでも集まれば大きな力を生み出せる」という主張を何度も繰り返していたシンジが
まさかの遊矢のカードを「使えないカードだな」発言
頭を強く打ったのだろうか
勝負は案の定遊矢の勝利、しかしまだシンジさんの戦いは終わらない
「遊矢と上層部が手を組んでる！この戦いも出来レースだったんじゃねえか！」
「いやこれが出来レースだとしたら負けたシンジは…？」
「……とにかく遊矢！お前は絶対に許さねえ！」
完
負け惜しみ×高速論破×八つ当たりというアクセルシンクロを見せてくれたシンジさんに涙が止まらない
しかしまだシンジさんの戦いは終わっていなかった。
暴動編
なんと大会の敗北者達をまとめ、暴動を起こし始めたのである。いやデュエルしろよ
そんな暴動にコモンズも参加、シンクロ次元を揺るがす大問題へと発展していく
やり過ぎな暴動を止めようとクロウが立ちふさがるも革命家と化したシンジには届かない
そんな中 フレンドシップカップ決勝戦遊矢 vs ジャックの戦いがクライマックスを迎え、そこにシンジが駆けつける
まだ遊矢に何か言いたいことがあるのだろう
「全力でいけ！遊矢！」
は？
何話か見逃したかな？
いつのまにか遊矢にスマイルワールドをキメられていたシンジ
「遊矢は許さねえ」とか言っていた気がする上に
私の記憶が確かであれば、彼らの和解シーンは無かったはずなので
シンジは仙水忍並の多重人格者なのだろう
そんなこんなで遊矢のエンタメデュエルでシンクロ次元のいざこざは全て解決
ちなみにここで遊矢の新しい力として登場した「ストレートペンデュラム」は今後一切出てこない
白昼夢でも見ていたのだろうか
というわけでシンジの出番もここで終了、彼も今後一切出てこない。
全員が集まる立ち絵やイベントとかにも出てこない。集大成オープニングにも彼だけ出てこない。このことから遊矢は本心ではシンジを許しておらず、彼を出禁にしていると考えられる。
ヒールキャラは好きなので思い入れはあるが、いかんせん手のひらクルクルし過ぎた印象。(手のひらというか人格が)
