今回はトロッコ問題について。
トロッコ問題とは
トロッコ問題とは、「ある人を助けるために他の人を犠牲にするのは許されるか？」という倫理学の思考実験のことです。
以下がトロッコ問題として挙げられる状況設定です。
【状況設定】
とある線路を走っていたトロッコの制御が不能になってしまいました。
このままめは前方で作業中の5人が猛スピードのトロッコに轢き殺されてしまうことになります。
そしてこの時偶然A氏は線路の分岐器のすぐ側にいました。
A氏がトロッコの進路を切り替えれば作業員の5人は助かります。
しかし別路線にも1人が作業しており、仮に進路を切り替えるとその1人がトロッコに轢かれてしまうことになります。
5人を助けるか1人を助けるか
なおA氏は上述の手段以外では作業員を助けることができず、またこの選択には法的な責任は問われず、道徳的な見解だけが問題にされています。
つまり「5人を助ける為に他の1人を殺してもよいか」という問題。
功利主義に基づき、1人を犠牲にして5人を助けるのか、
他者を他の目的のために利用すべきではないという義務論に基づき、何もするべきではないのか。
